Drug Design and Discovery
Our research is mainly focused on early drug discovery in the areas antibiotics, peptides, and computational medicinal chemistry.
Research focus
The research group Drug Design and Discovery uses medicinal chemistry, chemical biology, molecular modelling and cheminformatics to work on early drug discovery with a focus on anti-infective discovery. This includes:
- hit-identification and optimization in drug discovery
- transforming peptides into nonpeptides
- developing efficient and robust methods for synthesis of modified peptides, macrocyclic peptides, peptidomimetic scaffolds, and bioisosteres
- structure-based drug design, computational modelling and theoretical investigations of chemical reaction mechanisms
- chemical biology
