“Despite the pressing societal need for new antibiotics, initiatives to guide and support promising projects through the tough initial phases are scarce. ENABLE-2 aims to help fill this void, thereby fulfilling a very important function. In parallel, we are working to secure long-term funding in order to initiate international calls, with antibiotic resistance being a global problem,” states Anders Karlén in Forskarpodden.

Together with Dan I Andersson, Professor of Medical Bacteriology and Director of the Uppsala Antibiotic Center, they discuss the challenges and opportunities of antibiotic research. Program leader is Annica Hulth, Uppsala University.
