Meet the managers of the Faculty's new Degree Program Committees
2022-06-30
“With the launch of two Program Committees, we further increase our potential to provide our Degree programme students the best possible starting point in their future careers,” states Fredrik Jernerén, newly appointed chair of the Committee for the Bachelor of Science Programme in Pharmacy.

At the start of the autumn term 2022, the Faculty of Pharmacy will launch two Program Committees that will work with a focus on the Master and Bachelor of Science Programmes in Pharmacy. Each committee will be chaired by a program manager that – together with a coordinator and a team of ten members – will handle, among other things, follow-up work, plans and task preparation.

“With the committees, we are creating forums to address development projects and topics that have previously lacked a natural home at our faculty. The fact that our students are also represented in these program-wide activities will further strengthen our strategic work with matters that engage them as well as providing all students the best possible starting point in their future careers,” states Fredrik Jernerén, newly appointed chair of the Committee for the Bachelor of Science Programme in Pharmacy.
The committees respond directly to needs that have arisen with the expansion of the Faculty's educational activities. In the last decade, several new programmes and courses have been introduced, while the recent revisions of both Degree programmes has contributed to a significant increase in issues of different natures.
“We will work close to the program while operating as preparatory body to the Faculty's Undergraduate and Master’s Education Committee, GRUFF. This reinforcement will generate more distinct roles, increased space to ensure the quality of our Degree programmes and important values for both students and employees,” states Jörgen Bengtsson, chair of the Committee for the Master of Science Programme in Pharmacy.
Within the committees, the Faculty of Pharmacy unites representatives of teaching staff, study guidance, course administration and students. With this overall breadth, the new arenas are expected to pave the way for a clearer overview as well as strengthening collaborations surrounding the Degree programmes.

“I bring with me many years of experience in pedagogical development work, partly at the University Unit for Academic Teaching and Learning, partly in the role of program coordinator at the Bachelor of Science Programmes in Pharmacy. This are contexts where I have consistently tried to implement a stronger student perspective, and with this ongoing strengthening of our organization, I look forward to make even more visible the unique profile and value of prescriptionists,” says Emma Lundkvist, coordinator of the Committee for the Bachelor of Science Programme in Pharmacy.
Lisa Fredriksson Carreras, teacher in cell biology and currently involved in Professional development and skills training at the Faculty of Pharmacy (PUFF) as well as the seminars for interprofessional learning, takes on the role of coordinator in the Committee for the Master of Science Programme in Pharmacy:
“To work in the committees is a very exciting challenge where I most of all look forward to working close to our students, ensuring that they get as much as possible out of their education while preparing to step into the labor market!”
